I Live You

Nov 18, 2011 by

I often find myself correcting text messages to Marc and my children as I tap out my closing.  Instead of reading “I love you” I discover what I’ve actually written is “I live you.”  The more I think about it, the more it feels like the same thing.

Perhaps the most beloved verse in all of Biblical scripture is John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”   Something about the manner in which God loves his children compels him to, well, give. Love + Give = Life according to John.

Whatever you believe about Jesus, the one John says God gave, certainly his life was one most agree was dictated by love.  His actions demonstrated grace.  His teachings, liberation.  His death, humility.  Love, in the doing.  Love, in the living.

I guess it’s true, I do live my husband, Ryan, and Cole.  I do live my mom and dad, brother sister, family and friends.  I don’t live them perfectly.  I suck.  I wound.  I neglect.  I manipulate.  I also try . . . to live them more, to live them better, to live them more perfectly.  I try to give them my best life, so that they know they are loved.  A girl can dream . . .

Here’s to living and the loving we do in the process.

Peace and Blessings,

Nicole
